Install the Windows module

For HIT Phone to work when Teams is closed, install the module on your PC as follows.

a. Open HIT Phone in Teams

Open Microsoft Teams.
In the left rail, find HIT Phone and open the app.

b. Download the installer

On the HIT Phone home screen in Teams, click Download for the module and wait until the download finishes.

Important warning

Do not run the installer from the Teams UI or an in-app browser — that usually fails. Open your Downloads folder (or where the file was saved) and run the installer directly in Windows (double-click). The File Explorer screenshot for Downloads is in section c only (avoids duplicating the same figure).

Locate the downloaded file (usually in Downloads).
Double-click the installer and wait for it to finish.
A sign-in page opens in the browser — use the same Microsoft account you use for HIT Phone in Teams.
On first use, grant the requested permissions. If you are an admin, it is recommended to grant admin consent for the organization when offered.
After authentication, click Complete sign-in. Windows may ask you to Allow an action. When you see success, you can close the page.

When this finishes, HIT Phone is ready with the module installed on the computer.
